It was the first time I attempted to carve the pumkin :)

Here is a time lapse video of how me and Pooja carved it.

Deepak Bajracharya is one of the greatest singers from Nepal who has spent more than two decades of his life in musical career alone. His songs are fabulous. He has more than 250 recorded songs in many albums.  This April was a great honor for us to meet him in person and to listen to his songs during a local concert that too in our own our current home town in West Des Moines.

If you are one of his fans, do not miss the photos from the concert and photo shoot of Deepak Bajracharya (singles) [Mirror Link Here].

I was in Des Moines for some personal work on the second week of October. I had a chance to attend the Dashain Gathering that my friends had organized there. A few of my other shots from this event are available at Sanjaal’s event Gallery.

I used to think volleyball is something you play with your hands until recently when I saw a Kick Volleyball (also known as Sepak Takraw) tournament during Asian Heritage Festival 2010 in Des Moines Iowa.

This volleyball you could play with anything but your hands. You can use your legs, neck, chest, head but you cannot use your hands. It seems the game is popular among the South East Asian countries, although it is believed to have been originated in Malaysia.

They use a special netted ball to play this game.

I captured some action shots of this play on my camera. Few selected pictures are available in Sanjaal Studio.

I have published a few selected photos from my visit to Pella Tulip Festival this year. I took around 1100 pictures, selected some 150 good shots and have finished doing post processing on only 20% of those. I have uploaded the edited pictures to Sanjaal’s Studio.

The tulips (don’t expect to see the perfect bunches, because this year I focused on shooting dry, weathering and broken tulips) pictures are located here.

Th parade pictures are located here.

On the valentine’s weekend this year (2010), I visited Iowa Illinois Auto Show 2010 in the local community in Davenport. The following are some of the selected pictures I took on in that show. Since this was a regional auto show, there was no reasons to compare it to the annual international auto shows they have in Detroit, MI.

The following car companies had displayed their latest models in this show.

Had a potluck at my office today to Celebrate the end of year 2009, a year worst hit by recession and to welcome a new year – a year of hope of economic recovery.

I was assigned to prepare some fried rice. Thanks to Pooja, she helped me with it.
